l&rsquo;arm\u00e9e fran\u00e7aise lance une vaste offensive sur le front de Champagne, parall\u00e8lement aux op\u00e9rations men\u00e9es sur le Chemin des Dames. L&rsquo;objectif est notamment de conqu\u00e9rir les positions allemandes \u00e9tablies sur les monts de Champagne, \u00e0 l&rsquo;est de Reims.<\/p><p>Le massif de Moronvilliers constitue un ensemble de hauteurs strat\u00e9giques, solidement fortifi\u00e9es par les Allemands. Les combats d\u00e9butent le 17 avril 1917. Malgr\u00e9 les bombardements pr\u00e9paratoires, les soldats fran\u00e7ais se heurtent \u00e0 des d\u00e9fenses puissantes, \u00e0 des r\u00e9seaux de barbel\u00e9s et \u00e0 des tirs de mitrailleuses.<\/p><p>Les affrontements se prolongent durant plusieurs semaines. Les unit\u00e9s engag\u00e9es progressent difficilement, au prix de pertes humaines importantes.<\/p><p>C&rsquo;est dans ce contexte qu&rsquo;Henri NOGUES, soldat du 70e r\u00e9giment d&rsquo;infanterie, trouve la mort le <strong>30 avril 1917 \u00e0 Moronvilliers (Marne)<\/strong>, \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge de 26 ans.<\/p><p>Son nom demeure associ\u00e9 \u00e0 ces combats meurtriers L&rsquo;objectif est notamment de conqu\u00e9rir les positions allemandes \u00e9tablies sur les monts de Champagne, \u00e0 l&rsquo;est de Reims. Le massif de Moronvilliers constitue un ensemble de hauteurs strat\u00e9giques, solidement fortifi\u00e9es par les Allemands. Les combats d\u00e9butent le 17 avril 1917. Malgr\u00e9 les bombardements pr\u00e9paratoires, les soldats fran\u00e7ais se heurtent \u00e0 des d\u00e9fenses puissantes, \u00e0 des r\u00e9seaux de barbel\u00e9s et \u00e0 des tirs de mitrailleuses. Les affrontements se prolongent durant plusieurs semaines. Les unit\u00e9s engag\u00e9es progressent difficilement, au prix de pertes humaines importantes. C&rsquo;est dans ce contexte qu&rsquo;Henri NOGUES, soldat du 70e r\u00e9giment d&rsquo;infanterie, trouve la mort le 30 avril 1917 \u00e0 Moronvilliers (Marne), \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge de 26 ans.
